Part I: “The Historical Background of the Rise of English”
Part II: “The Chronological Story of the English Language”
Part III: “The Epilogue: English as a World Growing Variation”
The book, The English Language: The Story of Its Development, exceeds its limits of the historical survey of English development to reflect the fact that English developed into an international language spoken and used for various purposes by most of the world’s millions of people.
